居留證、延長居留及入出境申請說明：
The application instruction of the resident certificate, resident certificate extension and border exit & entry:

(一)新辦居留證： New application of the resident certificate:
1.

持中華民國護照或入國許可證入境者，分兩種情形(檢附入學通知書)：
  For those who hold Republic of China passport or Entry Permit, there are two different situations (attach with the letter of admission):
 

(1)在台原有戶籍，入境30日內，向戶籍所在地戶政事務所辦理遷入登記。
For those who have the Original household registration in Taiwan, head to the Household Registration Office to process the Moving Registration within 30 days after entry.
(2)在台無戶籍，入境15日內，向內政部移民署辦理台灣地區居留證。
For those who do not have the household registration in Taiwan please process the residence permit in Taiwan at the Ministry of Interior-Immigration Department within 15 days after entry.
2. 持港澳護照入境之港澳生，應向內政部移民署申辦臺灣地區居留證。
  Students who hold the Hong Kong & Macau passport should apply for a Residence permit in Taiwan at the Ministry on Interior-Immigration Department.
3. 持外國護照入境之僑生或外籍生，應申辦外僑居留證，分兩種情形：
 

For Overseas Chinese or foreign students who hold a foreign passport, apply for the ARC (Alien Resident Certificate), there are two different situations:
(1)以停留簽證入境者，向外交部領事事務局轉辦居留簽證，獲准居留簽證後，15日內再向移民署各縣市服務站申請外僑居留證。
For those who hold a visitor visa, head to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Bureau of Consular Affairs to switch the visa to the Residence Visa. After the Residence Visa is approved, apply for the ARC at the Immigration Department in any county and city service station within 15 days after entry
(2)以居留簽證入境者，應於入境15日內向移民署各縣市服務站申請外僑居留證。
For those who hold the Residence Visa, apply for the ARC at the Immigration Department in any county and city service station within 15 days after entry.

(二)居留證延期： The extension of the Resident Certificate:
1.

持外僑居留證之僑生或外籍生，應於外僑居留證有效日期到期前15日內(檢附學生證或在學證明)，向移民署各縣市服務站辦理延期。
  For Overseas Chinese or foreign student who holds the ARC should apply for the extension within 15 days before the ARC expires attach with Student ID or study proof) at the Immigration Department-any county or city service station.
2. 持臺灣地區居留證之港澳生或僑生，應於臺灣地區居留證有效日期到期前30日內(檢附學生證或在學證明)，向內政部移民署辦理延期。


For Hong Kong & Macau students who hold the Residence permit in Taiwan should apply for the extension within 30 days before the expiration (attach with Student ID or study proof) at the Immigration Department.

(三)辦理入出境： Application for the Border exit & entry:

1. 持外僑居留證之僑生或外籍生，因寒、暑假或特殊事故須返回僑居地，應持學校出入境證明文件向移民署各縣市服務站申辦重入國許可。
  For Overseas Chinese or foreign students who hold the ARC should bring the immigration documents issued by the school in to apply for a Re-entry permit for winter or summer vacations or any other special reason at the Immigration Department in any county or city service station.
2. 持臺灣地區居留證之港澳生或僑生，因寒、暑假或特殊事故須返回僑居地，應持學校出入境證明文件向內政部移民署申辦出入境許可。
  For Hong Kong & Macau students who hold the Residence permit in Taiwan should bring the immigration documents issued by the school in order to apply for the Re-entry permit for winter or summer vacations or other special reason at the Ministry of Interior-Immigration Department.
