Pronounciation
I guess many of you experienced minor difficulties in pronouncing my name. This is partly due to incompatibility between Chinese language and other languages, and also our system to translate names, i.e. there is no fixed way of translating names to English!
When the ministry of foreign affair issued my passport way back, it gave me an English translation that was not quite equal to what it sounds in Mandarin, but once you have a passport, it is very difficult to change it! So, the name stays...
My name, Jiun-Yee Yen, sounds like: JUNE (the 6th month of the year) - E (the 5th letter in the alphabet) Yen (like the Japanese dollar)! This would get you to about 90% close to the correct pronounciation. Enjoy!
