Sushi
Japanese Dish

Made of steamed rice shaped into mounds or blocks, sushi is created by combining the rice with pieces of raw fish, cucumbers, seaweed or cooked egg.  Wasabi, a green paste made from a root similar to horseradish, is often added to the top.  There are many variations in the making of sushi, and one of the best ways to see them all is to sit at the counter of a sushi shop in Japan and observe what goes into each arrangement.  Another option is to go to a Japanese restaurant and try out their sushi menu, with or without raw fish.
