The theme of my painting is based on Children's Imagery which depicts children's experiences at the early ages of two to twelve years old.
My involvement in art education for more than thirty years at the preschool, primary, secondary, and tertiary level of education has enriched me with the development of the field of Art and Design.

When you're born beautiful...
Your life is full of beauty
But, deep inside you no one knows...
You seem to be happy...
But, inside you the beauty has gone...
It is only you and your soul...
And the emptiness without bond...
All owing it in full restraint...
But, life still goes on as beautiful as it is...
Even if there is no more to say...
-- Rina Abdul Shukor.
My paintings depict the emotions of women. I used the colors of the butterfly to describe the beauty of women that is no longer within them. Their innocence have ceased and only the soul and obsession remains. The colorless butterfly against the colorful background in my paintings indicate the emotional sadness and emptiness within these women.
Finally, some of the butterflies are painted incompletely to suggest a mystery shrouding these women.
