Recent advances in wireless communications provide opportunities for introducing new services. Supporting multimedia applications over wireless networks are challenging due to constraints and heterogeneities such as limited battery power, limited bandwidth, different protocols and standards, stringent quality of service requirements. Cross-layer design methodologies hold great promise for addressing these challenges and providing reliable and high-quality end-to-end performance in wireless communications. ACM International Workshop on Cross Layer Design provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to present their research results. Prospective authors are invited to submit their contributions of original unpublished research on Cross Layer Design. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Cross Layer Design Framework
  • Cross Layer Data Delivery
  • Cross Layer Design for Application Layer Adaptation

Select best papers: A number of selected best papers will be collected to (1) a special issue on "Cross-Layer Design for Future Generation Wireless Networks", Wireless Personal Communications, and (2) a special issue on "All IP Cross Layer Communications", International Journal of Internet Protocol Technology (IJIPT).
