Our new paper on field observations of large boulders transported by a mid-sized typhoon (Soudelor) eastern Taiwan
Typhoon Soudelor brought large boulders on some certain beaches of eastern Taiwan inland for up to tens of meters. This paper documents the topography of the sites investigated and their relationships to the distributions of the boulders.

在 Windows 7 下裝設 GMT (Generic Mapping Tools)
之前寫的安裝GMT文章似乎有點過時 不過平時多使用Mac或是Linux 在這兩個平台安裝GMT實在容易 因此也沒有再特別去試現在windows版本; 但是現在因為上課需求,所以剛剛測試了Windows 7的版本:
Goto: http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/gmt/gmt_windows_SOEST.html and download and install the respective version for your windows 7 system.

Surface Displacement seen by Envisat satellite along the Longitudinal Valley of eastern Taiwan
Average surface displacement (relative) along the radar Line-of-Sight between 2004~2008 in the Longitudinal Valley of eastern Taiwan.
The LOS displacement rates was derived from processing satellite radar images acquired by Envisat satellite using Persistent Scatterer technique.
Running Matlab from *nix command line
Running Matlab
UNIX:
To start Matlab in UNIX (either in a terminal or in a X-Windows session), type "matlab" at the prompt. To run a Matlab m-file in "batch", use the UNIX re-direction symbol ("<"). For example:
matlab < filename.m
Matlab reads each line of filename.m as if it was typed by the user at the Matlab prompt.
linux stubs-32.h missing?
if you see this warning when compiling 32 bit code in 64 bit environment, try installing 'glibc-devel'! Either for i386 or i686 platform!
on ROI-PAC, if you are using Fedora, maybe perl_Extutils-MakeMaker-Coverage is needed.

Gave a talk about using RSCM (Raman Spectroscopy of Carbonaceous Materials) as an indicator of steady state orogeny in Taiwan. There were some interesting discussions.
